Sounds like Europe
The moment we have been waiting for since September 2023 is here. That great project on which many colleagues from all over Europe have been working so hard: WePod’s large co-production. This co-production is the result of the work of Elsa Cabria of El País Audio (Spain), Lili Rutai of 444 (Hungary), Claudia Torrisi of Europod (Belgium) and Francesca Berardi of Chora Media (Italy). The documentary has been produced in seven languages: Italian, Spanish, Hungarian, English, French, Dutch and Polish. To find out more about the details of this investigation and the creative process behind this co-production, today I am joined by two of the journalists who have made it possible: Elsa Cabria and Claudia Torrisi. Listen to Elsa and Claudia’s recommendations:

The first co-production of the WePod project, ‘Sea of Rage’ (‘Mar de Rabia’ in Spanish and ‘Mare di Rabbia’ in Italian), was released this past 4th of October. 'Sea of Rage’ is the story of Barbate and Gioia Tauro, two towns that stand up and say enough is enough to confront drug trafficking. A story of silences, dignity and contained rage. Javi Caminero talks to Manu Tomillo and Francesca Berardi about the research they have conducted in this co-production. Listen to Francesca’s and Manu’s recommendations.

On the 18th April we published the first episode of ‘The Drying Plain’, a co-production made by Press Freedom Foundation, WePod's Serbian Partner, and Qubit, WePod's Hungarian partner. In this documentary, the Serbian and Hungarian partners focus on a global issue that affects us from different points of view: climate change. To go deeper into this issue and to understand how our colleagues have made this documentary, Javi Caminero is joined by Mina Delic, journalist from Press Freedom Foundation. Check out the Serbian and Hungarian versions of ‘The Drying Plain’.
